My crush already has a girlfriend, but I asked him to the Sadie Hawkins dance anyway. He said that if they broke up before then, he would be glad to go to the dance with me.

The dance is only a week away and they’re still together. What should I do?

Really? You ask out another girl’s boyfriend, and you expect me to be on your side? You should know better than that.

You were wrong to ask him out, and you’re wrong to keep hoping he’ll be single and heartbroken just in time for the dance. (That’s like the flirting equivalent of praying that a plane will crash into your school just so you don’t have to take your math test.)

Go to the dance with your friends. And while you’re there, find a brand new guy to have a crush on. (One who isn’t slow dancing with his girlfriend, thank you very much.)
