Can I go out with my cousin's crush?

Dear Advice Girl,

My cousin and I like the same guy. He’s told me he likes me, not her. But I don’t want to hurt her feelings. Will it make me a bad cousin if I go out with him??

Dear Awesome01,

Well, yeah. The rule is: if two friends (or, you know, cousins) like the same guy at the same time, then in order to be truly fair, neither one should date him. That way no one gets hurt over a relationship that wouldn’t last that long anyway. (Unlike your cousin-ness, which lasts forever.)

Sorry, but that’s the way it goes. Sometimes you have to sacrifice a guy in order to do the right thing.

But don’t worry too much about it. Another guy is probably right around the corner.

wth is with this universal rule...why can't you just say he asked YOU(which he kinda did) out and that you wanted to ask her before to make sure its ok.

just sit down and have a little talk with her and tell her that he asked you to do something and if she would mind if she says yes and you end up with him dont ever leave him alone with her lol jk but if she says no then leave it at that

Yeah I really wouldn't do it. I mean shes your cousin && all and if you went out with him and tried keeping it a secret it would probably end up being very bad and your cousin will be soo sad its not even funny. I would just keep it as friends ;; or if anything get the okay from your cousin and if she says its okay then go for it (:
